Reproductions Of Early Märklin Trains

#1 von skeptic49 , 15.04.2010 16:40

While original trains and accessories from the very early years are impossible to collect for most hobbyists, there are certain reproductions available that are quite nice. These are from France:

Yes they are nice ! To find the classic tinplate gauge 1 has to deal with a lot of luck : I got my reasonable priced tinplate stuff, because the people did not know what they had there . I gave them a wellchosen amount of money and they said : That pile of metal is worth so much money ? I was pleased and got the follwing toys trains ( all live steam ):

The last one is my only gauge 0 loco and the guy who owned it before knew what he has got

Very nice trains, Joe! Thanks for posting your photos.

I found some great items at the York, PA Train Collector's Associtation meeting this weekend to add to my early 20th century diorama: an American-made tinplate reproduction of the Märklin "onion dome" Central Station, two early Märklin passenger cars, a KBN clock tower with figures:

The streamlined loco looks like a treat ! But best of all are the acessories you own ! I only have an old semaphore and a "Zuglaufanzeiger" , I don´t know exactly how to translate that (Destination Board?????);

I now have got a tunnel, a platform and a small station building. Best of all was the small oval of 3 Rail gauge 1 track with a switch to have a small siding , so I will setup a small tinplate layout soon .
